CompressPic (compresspic.in) is a free online image tool that allows users to compress, resize, convert and process images entirely within their web browser. CompressPic is an independent product operated as a personal project.

By using CompressPic, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data. Here is exactly what happens when you visit CompressPic:

• Server logs — Your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps may be logged automatically by our hosting provider (Netlify) for security and performance purposes. This is standard web hosting behaviour.
• Usage analytics — We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people use each tool. This data is aggregated and never tied to individual users.
• No account data — We do not require registration or login. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or any other personal information.

3. Your Images & Files

This is the most important section. Your images are never uploaded to our servers.

All image processing on CompressPic — compression, resizing, format conversion, EXIF removal — happens entirely inside your browser using the JavaScript Canvas API and Web APIs. The process works like this:

• You select an image file on your device
• Your browser reads the file locally using the File API
• Processing happens in your browser's memory
• The result is made available for download directly from your browser
• No data is sent to any server at any point during this process

You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools, going to the Network tab, and observing that no image data is transmitted when you use our tools.

We do not store, analyse, share, or have access to any images you process on CompressPic.

4. Cookies & Analytics

CompressPic may use cookies for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies — Required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — Used to understand which tools are most popular and how users navigate the site. Data is aggregated and anonymised.
• Advertising cookies — Set by Google AdSense to show relevant advertisements (see section 5).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics and advertising cookies will not affect the functionality of any CompressPic tool.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

CompressPic displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to support the free operation of this service. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing history and interests.

Specifically, Google may:

• Use cookies to track your visits across websites to personalise ads
• Use your general location (country or city level) to show region-relevant ads
• Collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy

You can opt out of personalised Google advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

CompressPic does not control what ads Google shows or how Google uses your data for advertising. Google's use of advertising data is governed by Google's own privacy policies.

CompressPic uses the following third-party services that may collect data:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data beyond what is described in this policy, most data rights are handled automatically. However, you have the right to:

• Access — Request information about what data we hold about you
• Deletion — Request deletion of any personal data we may hold
• Opt-out — Opt out of advertising personalisation through Google's tools
• Complaint — Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children's Privacy

CompressPic is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of CompressPic after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will not make changes that significantly reduce your privacy protections without prominent notice on the website.
